I neither have

I neither have

* refers to Paul, First Epistle to the Corinthians. Meaning of
Charismata is complex, the usual meaning is that charismata
are "special gift", given to serve (to the already saved believers).

** refers to the bible, apocryph Book of Sirach (also
called "Ecclesiastic", "a faithfull friend is an elixir of life"),
but also to alchemy, as a liquid version of the philosopher's stone.
Elixir vitae is more than just a way to immortality.

*** refer to John's Apocalypse, but also Masonery, Comenius…

**** First think is about narcissism, but there is more in
that "amor sui". Christian point of view is restricted by the
obsession of "Love of God". Augustin qualify "amor sui" just as the
state of man without God, the end of his evolution being Grace (from
amor sui to amor Dei). La Rochefoucault stated "amor sui" as the
nature of man himself. But look at Spinoza self enjoyment (whose
finality is yet also amor Dei): we don't love something for what it
is, but because we imagine it matches with our intrinsic nature and
subsequently increase our "being power". Hence we desire something
before to love it and we love it cause we imagine it can give us
joy. The more we love something/someone, the more we love ourselves
(amor sui). And the more we love ourselves (it gives us joy) the
more we wish to get closer of what increases the amor sui. That self
enjoyment is the basis of all.

***** "Great is Truth", from the apocryph Book of Esdras, and from
Ptahhotep about 2000 BC. See also the poem of Coventry Patmore,
Jefferson's bill for religious freedom, and above all, Aldous
Huxley's "Great is truth, but still greater, from a practical point
of view, is silence about truth" (in brave new world) which quote i
find here very relevant.

****** fidelis : also strong, friendly.

******* all things, every things, each one, universe…

******** from Whither's "nec habeo, nec careo, nec curo": i neither
have, nor need, nor care for it. But if the first is "nec caveo"
instead of "nec habeo" it becomes: I neither beware, I neither need
to… But… who knows what she's speaking about ?…

Thank you - Lux for translating the song.
